Atlético Madrid youngster agrees Levante switch | OneFootball

The brass at Atlético Madrid have late this week reached a transfer agreement with their counterparts at La Liga rivals Levante.

This comes amid the understanding that the latter have tied up a deal to bring in Julio Díaz on a permanent basis.

Díaz, for his part, is fresh off something of a breakout campaign on the books of the aforementioned Atlético. After emerging onto the first-team picture under the watch of Diego Simeone, the 21-year-old went on to notch four La Liga starts for the Rojiblancos.

And along the way, Díaz, who can take to the pitch in either midfield or at left-back, largely impressed, notching a solitary assist and looking solid defensively.

Having already seen his path to regular starting minutes at the Metropolitano blocked by the arrival of Alejandro Grimaldo this summer, a number of La Liga clubs are in turn understood to have expressed an interest in bringing the Spaniard in for next season.

And as alluded to above, on Friday, one such club have closed an agreement for Díaz’s signing.

As per a report from market insider Matteo Moretto, Levante have landed the youngster, on what is expected to be announced as a long-term contract.
