Augsburg confirm Cédric Zesiger’s return to Young Boys | OneFootball

Augsburg have confirmed Swiss centre-back Cédric Zesiger is returning to BSC Young Boys on a permanent deal.

The club said in a statement that the 28-year-old had requested a move back to Switzerland for personal reasons and that an agreement had been reached to facilitate the transfer.

Sporting director Benjamin Weber thanked Zesiger for his commitment during his spell with the club and wished him well back home.

Zesiger described the decision as difficult, saying he felt very comfortable at Augsburg, but stressed the need to be closer to home and expressed gratitude to the club, team and supporters.

He made 44 appearances for Augsburg during his 18 months at the club.
