Augsburg end Crystal Palace negotiations over Chrislain Matsima | OneFootball

FC Augsburg have reportedly ended their negotiations with Crystal Palace regarding the transfer of Chrislain Matsima (24), according to information from Sky Germany.

Whilst an agreement between the two clubs was close to being reached, their inability to find common ground on the bonuses linked to the deal and the payment structure is said to have brought the talks to a halt. Crystal Palace, which had tabled an offer of €25m for the Frenchman, were unwilling to compromise.

Augsburg, which are not currently expecting a new proposal from the Eagles’ management, are said to have informed the defender – who had himself reached an agreement with the London club – and his agent of the situation.

Seen as a potential replacement for Maxence Lacroix (26), whose transfer to Chelsea for a fee of around €60m is expected to be officially announced shortly, Matsima is therefore set to resume training with the German club ahead of the upcoming Bundesliga season.
