FC Bayern are facing a landmark summer of transfers – and this time it’s not just about new stars, but above all about departures. Sporting director Max Eberl has made it publicly clear that the record champions must sell, and now there are growing indications as to which players are specifically on the cut list
Max Eberl knows that he has to deliver. The 52-year-old is under close scrutiny from the supervisory board led by Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. After costly contract extensions with key players such as Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies, it is clear that new revenue is absolutely essential, as Sport BILD and Abendzeitung München both report
„We will also have to sell players,“ Eberl recently made clear. In addition to the already confirmed departures of Leon Goretzka and Raphaël Guerreiro and the decision not to sign loan player Nicolas Jackson permanently, the focus is now on further transfer income
Bayern have been pursuing a consistent austerity policy for some time now, having parted company with top earners such as Kingsley Coman and Thomas Müller in the summer of 2025
Bayern could make moves in defence in particular. Min-jae Kim is considered one of the most prominent candidates for sale. The South Korean is only the number three central defender behind Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah. Despite his reliability, a sale could make sense – also because Juventus Turin are showing strong interest
Hiroki Ito is in a similar situation, but with one crucial difference: injuries have slowed his development, which is why a sale would be less lucrative at the moment. Internally, it seems that they want to give him more time
Several loan players are also facing an uncertain future: Joao Palhinha, who failed to make a lasting impression at Tottenham, is set to leave, as are Sacha Boey and Bryan Zaragoza, who also do not play a central role in the plans
A decision is also in the offing in goal: Alexander Nübel, who has been on loan for years, is now set to be sold for good and earn a double-digit million fee

The biggest surprise, however, comes from another name: Alphonso Davies. The Canadian, once an undisputed regular, has recently lost his place to Konrad Laimer. Following injuries and fluctuations in form, he is suddenly considered a possible candidate for sale
Davies is one of the top earners in the squad and could generate one of the highest transfer fees. Nevertheless, a transfer is currently considered rather unlikely – also because the player himself would have to agree to a move
The initial situation is clear: FC Bayern must generate income in order to remain financially flexible and at the same time be able to strengthen the squad in a targeted manner
Eberl is therefore once again faced with a tricky task: finding the right balance between sporting quality and economic sense will be crucial.
