Auxerre set to sign Francisco Sierralta from Watford | OneFootball

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, AJ Auxerre are set to sign Francisco Sierralta (28) from Watford on a €2 million deal.

The Chile international arrived at Watford in 2020 from sister club Udinese, where he has gone on to make 123 appearances for the club. In his first season in England, Sierralta helped The Hornets back into the Premier League, but subsequently found his options limited in the top flight.

Watford only used the centre-back eight times across the 2021/22 season as they dropped back into the Championship. Sierralta has since been a mainstay within the team during their time in the second division.

Sierralta will be joining a side that will be hoping to build on a promising season back in the top flight of French football. After winning promotion in the 2023/24 season, Auxerre had a comfortable return to Ligue 1 and finished the season in 11th.
