Avaí close to signing Palmeiras prospect Sorriso on loan to end of season | OneFootball

Avaí are close to signing Palmeiras academy forward Sorriso, with Criciúma and Juventude also pursuing the 21-year-old. According to Globo.com, if the move is finalised he would join on loan until the end of the season.

Sorriso has been a standout at under-20 level for Palmeiras, winning back-to-back Brasileirão sub-20 titles in 2024 and 2025 and finishing runners-up in the 2025 Libertadores sub-20.

This year he led Copinha goal involvements, producing five goals and four assists in seven matches.

Palmeiras went out in the quarter-finals to Ibrachina on penalties.

Having aged out of the ongoing Brasileirão sub-20 and facing limited opportunities with the senior side, Palmeiras are seeking a loan so he can gain playing time.
