Ayyoub Bouaddi named in Morocco World Cup squad as Achraf Hakimi included | OneFootball

Ayyoub Bouaddi has been named in Morocco’s World Cup squad after switching allegiance in mid-May, joining the Lions of the Atlas for the 11 June-19 July finals. The Lille midfielder will travel across the Atlantic.

According to L'Équipe, it is the 18-year-old’s first call-up from Mohamed Ouahbi and he could make his debut in one of two warm-ups, against Madagascar on the second of June at 19:00 or Norway on the seventh at 21:00.

Morocco’s squad features four other Ligue 1 players, including captain Achraf Hakimi, Marseille’s Nayef Aguerd and Strasbourg duo Samir el-Mourabet and Gessime Yassine.

Amine Sbaï of Angers is among three alternates, while Troyes forward Tawfik Bentayeb, who made his first appearance for Morocco on Tuesday in a friendly against Burundi, has not been called. Issa Diop is also included, having been with Morocco since March.

The champions of Africa are in Group C with Brazil, Scotland and Haïti, and open against the Seleçao overnight on 13-14 June.
