Hartberg visit this Saturday at 19:30

The hunt for points is back on, and we are eager to start in style! On Saturday at 19:30 CEST, we host TSV Hartberg at the Red Bull Arena for the first round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, giving us the chance to kick off the new season together well at home.

There's plenty for us to get excited about: perfect football weather forecast at the Red Bull Arena, Danny Röhl's Bundesliga debut, and many new faces on the pitch. We can also get our revenge for last season's 3-1 defeat against Hartberg. Since then, however, things have changed quite a bit for both us and our opponents.

Not only have the opponents undergone a significant transformation with the return of head coach Markus Schopp, but goalkeeper Tom Hülsmann has also moved to Ligue 2, Elias Havel to Serie A, and captain Jürgen Heil to SK Sturm. Goalkeeper Armin Pecsi has been signed on loan from Liverpool FC, and our former player Oliver Lukic will also be playing for the Styrian side this season. TSV Hartberg won their opening cup match 3-1 against regional league club SC Imst – job done.

Our Red Bulls are counting on maximum support from the stands for the new season. You can still secure your season ticket before Saturday and experience our matches at the best possible price.

For those who enjoy watching football in warm weather, our first three home games are available at a discounted price in the Summer Hat-trick bundle. Of course, individual tickets for Saturday's match are also available.

To date, we have had sixteen players leaving and nine new arrivals, so it's been a rather eventful transfer period. A lot has happened. There have also been several changes in the coaching and staff teams, with eight new members joining. We had a good pre-season, and I feel we have a lot of momentum, a good atmosphere, and a strong work ethic within the team. We got off to a successful start to the season with the cup match. Of course, we're all aware that this won't be a walk in the park and that after such a major overhaul, we can't just dominate our opponents right from the start. We want to quickly find our footing and, ideally, achieve positive results from the very beginning with the new team and new coaching staff.

I've been following the league quite closely over the past few weeks, analysing some of our opponents and getting to know their coaches a bit. Due to their coaching change, Hartberg is probably no longer comparable to last season's team - they certainly have a somewhat different style of play. I've also watched some matches of other teams coached by Markus Schopp against us and know that he's a courageous coach who lets his team play their own way. In any case, we're expecting a good first match and an interesting challenge, where we naturally have to do our duty. We've worked very hard over the past seven weeks following the turnaround. A cup match like last week's is helpful, even though I don't want to overemphasise the win. Now I'm really looking forward to my first Bundesliga match as coach of FC Red Bull Salzburg.
