Aurèle Amenda, Arthur Theate, Hugo Larsson, Farès Chaibi, Ritsu Doan, Ellyes Skhiri and Oscar Højlund are now heading back to Frankfurt, while Love Arrhov – who played three matches with Sweden’s U19s – will be given a reduced training programme along with Nathaniel Brown. All of the above except Larsson were involved in their respective countries’ final matches of the international break, during which time Rasmus Kristensen, Nnamdi Collins, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya and Kaua Santos were in rebab training.

Seventeen players, three of them goalkeepers including academy youngster Yurij Obert, were put through their paces by head coach Albert Riera on the training pitch a mere stone’s throw away from the Deutsche Bank Park, which will host the match on Easter Sunday (kick-off: 17.30 CEST). It will be part of Bundesliga Matchday 28 and usher in the final phase of the 2025/26 season.

The Eagles put in a good shift from the beginning of training through to the very end, and will have another three full days in which to prepare themselves for Sunday’s contest.
