Badiashile targeted by Napoli, but Chelsea agreement unlikely at €30m | OneFootball

Multiple sources confirm Napoli talks with Chelsea for Benoit Badiashile, but the €30m asking price and refusal to accept a loan with option to buy make it very difficult.

The Partenopei are under transfer limitations this summer, meaning they cannot sign new players without first making sales.

It is confirmed by Footmercato, Sport Mediaset, Fabrizio Romano, Sky Sport Italia and more that Napoli are in negotiations with Chelsea for Badiashile.

However, the terms of the deal are a very long way from being agreed upon.

Napoli want Badiashile on loan

The asking price for the defender is €30m, despite the fact he made only 16 appearances throughout all of last season and is not part of Xabi Alonso’s plans going forward.

Napoli would only be prepared to make a move if it was on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, not an obligation, and right now Chelsea do not seem ready to accept those conditions.

Negotiations will continue for the 25-year-old, who has also been approached by Real Sociedad.

Chelsea paid €38m to sign the France international from AS Monaco in January 2023, but his career was stalled by a series of muscular injuries.

Considering the problems Napoli had with similar injuries last season, it might not be the best fit.
