Balikwisha, Adamu and Mvuka latest after Celtic squad snub | OneFootball

Celtic attacking trio Mikel-Ange Balikwisha, Junior Adamu and Joel Mvuka were not included in the Celtic team for this afternoon’s game against Motherwell. The forward three have struggled for game time recently but they were pictured putting in additional work on Matchday.

All three will be hoping to force their way into the team but chances are thin on the ground given how hectic this season has panned out. Balikwisha has failed to impress after arriving from Royal Antwerp for in excess of £5m last summer while January loan signings Adamu and Mvuka are yet to stake a claim to have their option exercised to make the move permanent.

Working with a Celtic fitness coach, the trio were put through their paces doing additional fitness work before the 3pm kickoff.

It remains to be seen whether the players return to the squad, especially given how tight the league situation is. Kelechi Iheanacho has returned to the bench as he looks to make an impact for the Champions signifying that there is a route back into the squad, but previous displays from the trio have left a lot to be desired – even if Adamu clearly looks like there might be a player there.

Elsewhere, MON’s Celtic team will be looking to beat the visitors from Fir Park and take revenge after the humiliating defeat at the end of 2025.
