Ousmane Dembélé was crowned the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner this Monday, September 22, 2025, in Paris. Stade Rennais, where the French international began his professional career, celebrated this achievement with messages and tributes across its official channels.
Ousmane Dembélé made history at Stade Rennais long before dazzling in the colors of Paris Saint-Germain. Spotted in Évreux at the age of thirteen, the forward joined the Breton club's Academy, where he progressed through the ranks until making his professional Ligue 1 debut in 2015. His time in Rennes left a lasting mark, both for his technical prowess and his meteoric rise.
The player's Ballon d'Or 2025 triumph sparked a wave of emotion throughout the club. On its official channels, Stade Rennais hailed the journey of a talent "born in Red and Black," recalling Dembélé's beginnings at La Piverdière and his first exploits at Roazhon Park.
