In their search for a striker to fill the void left by the departure of Elye Wahi (23), whose loan from Eintracht Frankfurt ended on 30th June, OGC Nice are reportedly targeting Bamba Dieng (26) and Simon Banza (29) as two of their top priorities, according to Foot Mercato.
A free agent since leaving FC Lorient, the Senegalese forward is coming off a particularly successful season, having scored 15 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions. These performances have certainly not gone unnoticed, with several Turkish clubs, as well as Al-Shabab, reportedly interested in securing Dieng’s services, although he himself has not placed OGC Nice at the top of his list of priorities.
Banza, for his part, is said to be a player particularly favoured by the Gym’s management, who would like to see his club, Al-Jazira, loan him out. A striker who has made a name for himself on the European stage, the Congolese player moved to the United Arab Emirates last summer, following successful and high-profile spells at SC Braga and Trabzonspor. However, signing him is unlikely to be straightforward, as his contract runs until 2028.
