Recent Barcelona news has brought another reason for celebration, with Pau Cubarsi and Cata Coll being named the winners of the prestigious 2026 Barça Players’ Association Award, reports Mundo Deportivo.
The honour, presented annually by the FC Barcelona Players’ Association, recognises the first-team players who best represent the club’s values through their performances, attitude and conduct both on and off the pitch.
For Pau Cubarsi, the recognition adds another milestone to what has already been a remarkable year for both club and country.
The teenage defender has become one of the faces of Barcelona’s future while also enhancing his reputation on the international stage with his performances at the FIFA World Cup.

At just 19, the Barcelona academy graduate has established himself as an undisputed starter, becoming a cornerstone of the club’s defence thanks to his composure, intelligence and ability to build attacks from the back.
His influence has extended beyond club football this year, with the defender also strengthening his reputation at the ongoing 2026 World Cup.
Cubarsi has played all 450 available minutes for his national team, helping them reach the quarter-final without conceding a single goal.
The award is recognition not only of his footballing qualities but also of the professionalism, humility and maturity he has consistently shown despite his young age.

The 2026 Barça Players’ Award will also be presented to Cata Coll, who receives the honour for the first time since establishing herself as Barcelona Femeni’s first-choice goalkeeper.
After six seasons with the senior team, Coll has developed into one of Europe’s most dependable goalkeepers.
Her consistency, leadership and commitment have made her an integral figure for Barcelona.
The winners were selected through a vote conducted by members of the FC Barcelona Players’ Association, with former players choosing the footballers they believed best represented the club’s identity and values throughout the season.
