Barcelona activate option to sign Hamza Abdelkarim as 18-year-old plays at World Cup | OneFootball

L'Équipe reports that Barcelona have activated the purchase option for Egypt forward Hamza Abdelkarim, 18, who is at the World Cup.

The striker joined on loan from Al Ahly, his Cairo youth club, in January and played for Barcelona's under-19s. He scored 6 goals in 11 U19 league matches.

He has signed for the next three seasons, to 30 June 2029. The option is estimated at around €1.5m.

His prolific spell earned a call-up from Hossam Hassan in late May for the 2026 World Cup.

He came on in Egypt's opening two games, a 1-1 draw with Belgium and a 3-1 win over New Zealand.

The forward could be assessed by head coach Hansi Flick during pre-season.
