Barcelona already working on two major sales ahead of next summer | OneFootball

FC Barcelona had a very fruitful 2026 summer transfer window as they brought in seven new players to reinforce all the areas of Hansi Flick’s team. This was in stark contrast to the club’s transfer activity in recent years, when they had to approach the market with very limited financial resources.

This change was a sign of good economic management being done by the Blaugrana club. However, there was another explanation for the Catalans’ activity in the market, i.e., their foreboding that things might get difficult in the near future, as the first team will have to return to Montjuic to play their home games while construction work continues at the Spotify Camp Nou.

With the loss of revenue from Camp Nou, Barcelona will have to gain income from other sources, mainly from player sales. In fact, SPORT reports that the Catalans are already working on completing two sales, that they believe are of absolute importance for the club.

The first of these operations is for the sale of the center-back Ronald Araujo, who joined Liverpool on loan during the last summer transfer window. The Reds have a €55 million purchase option on him, and with the way the Uruguayan has started life in England, Barcelona are hopeful that the Merseyside club would end up paying that sum, even though his age might not make him a very attractive target for them.

The second operation is for the sale of the goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who joined Ajax Amsterdam on loan this summer. The Blaugranes are still paying almost his entire salary, but are hopeful that with his performances in the Netherlands, he will regain his value, and they would get some offers for him next summer.

In addition to the savings made in wages, their transfers can also bring in some much needed funds to the Barcelona coffers. In this regard, other transfers, possibly those of Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde, can also prove to be helpful.
