One of the main priorities of FC Barcelona going into the next summer transfer window would be to address their center-forward position, where the future of Robert Lewandowski is highly uncertain.
The Catalans have a clear favorite to replace the Pole, i.e., the Argentine forward Julian Alvarez. However, getting him from Atletico Madrid would not really be easy, as the Colchoneros are counting on him to be their team’s cornerstone in attack from the next season.
In such a context, the Blaugranes are keeping their eyes on some other alternatives as well, and this list is continuously growing. One of the names to reappear is PSG forward Bradley Barcola, who is back in the discussion around the Blaugrana attack.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, citing information from Sky Sports, the 23-year-old French winger is being followed by several European clubs once again, with Barcelona among those monitoring his situation.
This is not the first time the French winger has been linked with a move to Camp Nou, as his name has already surfaced in previous transfer windows. In Germany, Bayern Munich are also said to be attentive to his situation, while Arsenal and Liverpool have made contact through his agent Moussa Sissoko’s camp.
Barcola offers versatility across the front line, capable of playing on both wings and also operating centrally as a false nine when needed. His pace, direct style, and ability in one-on-one situations make him a constant threat, and he has recorded 12 goals and 7 assists in 45 appearances for PSG this season.
However, his importance in Paris has decreased in recent months. The rise of Desire Doue has pushed him further down the pecking order, with Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also ahead of him in the attacking hierarchy. This situation has reduced his playing time and is understood to have caused some frustration for the player.
Barcola is under contract with PSG until 2028, and while the French club has not taken any public stance on his future, reports place his valuation at around €70 million. He joined from Lyon in 2023 for a fee close to €45 million.
At Barcelona, there is full recognition of his quality and long-term potential, but he is still not the priority at this stage. Deco and Hansi Flick are focused on strengthening the centre forward position first, with most of the budget expected to be directed there. Still, Barcola remains on the list as a potential opportunity depending on how the market develops.
