La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday announced a setback on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that star attacker Raphinha is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Raphinha for his part sparked concern across the Barcelona fanbase on Saturday evening.

This came after the Brazilian international was hooked prematurely during the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Elche.

En route to a 3-1 triumph, Raphinha, after featuring from the off, failed to emerge for the 2nd-half owing to a fitness complaint.

And as alluded to above, early this week, confirmation of the extent of the former Leeds United man’s setback has been provided.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms, Raphinha is expected to spend the next week on the treatment table:

‘Raphinha is suffering from an overload in the adductor muscle of his right leg. As a precaution, he will miss tomorrow’s match against Albacete, and his recovery period is expected to be one week.’
