In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Barcelona are keeping a keen eye on Juventus defender Gleison Bremer. It has been claimed that the Catalan club are eyeing a move to bring the Brazilian centre-back to the Nou Camp next year.

Bremer’s Impressive Form In Italian Football

Bremer has managed to shine at times with his performances at the centre of Juventus’ backline in this campaign so far. The Brazilian talent has secured a couple of assists in seven matches for the Turin outfit this season across all fronts.

The 28-year-old has been a rock at the back as he has made four tackles, five blocks, three interceptions and 30 clearances in Serie A. He has been tidy when distributing possession from inside his half after completing 84.8% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Turin club will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, Barcelona would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Bremer next year.

Should Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick Move In For Bremer?

Bremer is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his side on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and can make a few important blocks for his team inside his half.

Standing at 1.88m, the Brazilian sensation can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if the Catalan club manage to bring him on board next year.

We can expect Bremer to add more bite and steel to Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s defence. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Nou Camp in the coming years.

At 28, Bremer is playing in his prime, which makes him a worthy target for the Catalan giants to consider this January or at the end of this season. He might even help Barca compete for some major honours in the future. Therefore, Flick would be wise to move in for him in 2026.
