Barcelona Atletic had an impressive start to the 2025/26 season under newly appointed manager Juliano Belletti. The B-team put together four consecutive wins, rising to the top of the table and looking like a force in the early weeks.
However, that momentum has slowed, and they now sit four points behind Poblense, struggling to recapture the spark that defined their strong start.
Sama Nomoko was arguably the standout performer during the early run of victories. His best moments came from his partnership with striker Victor Barbera, now sidelined through injury.
Nomoko provided three assists in two games and also scored two goals, including a decisive strike in the derby against Sant Andreu and an opener in the 2-0 win over UE Olot. These performances earned him well-deserved attention and praise.
In recent weeks, however, according to SPORT, Nomoko has found himself on the bench, with Belletti opting for more experienced options such as Dani Rodriguez on the right wing and Juan Hernandez on the left.
His time on the field has been limited, and when he has played, he has struggled to reach the same level of influence he displayed earlier. This has highlighted a minor crisis of confidence for the Malian winger, who will need to regain form if he hopes to reclaim his starting position.
In terms of talent, the Malian winger is right up there with the players coming through Barcelona Atletic. The only way he can win back his starting berth is by being more consistent in the minutes that Belletti gives him in the coming weeks.
Let us hope Nomoko can continue to impress and push for a first-team berth under Hansi Flick when the opportunity presents itself. It will not be a journey without its bumps, so we will have to wait and see how it plays out.
