An internal debate has erupted behind the scenes at La Liga giants Barcelona, regarding the future of one member of Hansi Flick’s squad.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc Casadó as the player in question.

The name of midfielder Casadó has of course emerged as an altogether prominent one in the media headlines surrounding Barcelona over the last 24 hours.

This comes after widespread reports were forthcoming, assuring that the 21-year-old has been made available for the right price this summer.

Amid ongoing efforts to return to the 1:1 financial rule, Casadó has been identified as expendable, owing chiefly to the overbooking in the heart of Barca’s midfield.

As alluded to above, though, if ensuing word stemming from Spain on Sunday is anything to go by, then not all at the Camp Nou are in agreement regarding as much.

As per a report from MD:

‘There are some important voices within the club who wouldn’t oppose Casadó leaving if a good offer comes in and he asks to leave. However, among the boardroom leadership, the player from Sant Pere de Vilamajor is highly regarded not only for his football, but also for his status as a Barça fan by birth.’

Joan Laporta, for one, is understood to be keen for Casadó to stay put, a huge fan of the Spanish international’s talents.
