Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided a fresh insight into the situation of star striker Robert Lewandowski.

Veteran frontman Lewandowski of course set alarm bells sounding across Catalunya’s capital this past weekend.

As much came after the Pole was forced to limp out of Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo.

En route to a comeback 4-3 triumph, Lewandowski went to ground clutching his hamstring late on, before quickly being hooked from proceedings.

An ensuing round of medical scans revealed a semitendinosus injury in his left hamstring, an issue which, according to reports, could keep the former Bayern Munich man out for as long as three weeks.

Ahead of crunch upcoming fixtures against the likes of Real Madrid and Inter Milan, the subject of Lewandowski’s wellbeing was in turn put to Hansi Flick on Monday.

And, speaking during his pre-Mallorca press conference, Barca’s headmaster went on to admit:

“Lewandowski? When he’s ready to play and return, we’ll be happy about that. At the moment, we don’t know how long it will take. And we don’t want to say anything either.”
