Barcelona ‘close’ to deal for Patricio Pacifico | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona are closing on an agreement to add to the club’s defensive ranks at academy level.

This comes amid confirmation of the Blaugrana inching towards a deal for Patricio Pacifico.

Pacifico, for his part, is a 19-year-old stopper, who is currently plying his club trade in his home country of Uruguay, with Defensor Sporting Club.

The starlet chiefly lines out at left-back, but owing to his versatility is also capable of slotting into a centre-back role.

Pacifico has long been tipped by many in South America as a future star in the making.

And as alluded to above, seemingly sharing such an opinion are those in a position of power at Spanish heavyweights Barcelona.

So much so that, as per a report from transfer journalist Gianluigi Longari:

‘Barcelona going wild in the market for the globe’s top talents: the Blaugrana close to sealing a deal also for the left-back of Defensor, Patricio Pacifico.’
