As has been well-established at this point, FC Barcelona see the signing of a new centre-forward as a priority for the summer of 2026.

Robert Lewandowski, 37, is entering the final six months of his contract and there has been no indication that a renewal might be on the cards.

Instead, Barcelona have been linked with some top strikers heading into 2026, with the club showing interest in the likes of Julian Alvarez and Harry Kane, among others.

Also on the radars of the Catalan giants happens to be Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong.

Barcelona held an interest in Eyong last summer as well, before he left Villarreal to join Levante, and continue to keep an eye on him.

In fact, according to SPORT, the Blaugrana are closely following the 22-year-old centre-forward at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, where he is playing for Cameroon.

The forward is one of the names Barça are considering for the upcoming summer transfer window.

As mentioned earlier, the club had already explored the possibility of signing him a few months ago, but salary cap restrictions prevented what would have been a very favourable financial operation.

Barcelona are now carefully assessing his performances at his first major international tournament. The striker began the tournament in style, scoring the winning goal for his national team against Gabon.

As for his club form, Eyong has scored six and assisted three goals in 15 La Liga matches for Levante this term.

Even though his contract contains a €30 million release clause, there is a strong possibility that Eyong could be sold for around €15 million only, thanks to some clauses inserted in the agreement between Levante and Villarreal.

Eyong would represent a low-cost option for Barcelona, a clear gamble on an emerging player whose value could rise significantly if, as expected, he becomes one of the standout performers at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The player, for his part, has never hidden his desire to sign for Barcelona and would welcome a move to Catalonia.
