Barcelona ‘confident’ of imminent full-back signing | OneFootball

The board at La Liga giants Barcelona are confident of tying up an agreement to bring João Cancelo back to the club over the weeks ahead.

This comes amid ongoing work on the part of Deco and his team of directors at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Defender Cancelo of course spent the 2nd half of this past season plying his trade in the colours of Barcelona, on loan from Saudi outfit Al-Hilal.

The Portuguese went on to play a leading role for the Blaugrana, establishing himself as a favourite of new manager Hansi Flick. Barca, in turn, have long moved to make his signing a permanent one.

To date, negotiations between the parties have not given rise to an agreement, amid a back-and-forth on the details of the fee.

As alluded to above, though, as much has not dented the confidence of the Spanish champions when it comes to their chances of ultimately getting a deal over the line.

As per a report from market expert Fabrizio Romano:

‘Barcelona remain confident to get João Cancelo deal done with talks to continue with Al Hilal. Deal was not done weeks ago but Barça are convinced to make it happen by the end of the window. João wants to return.’
