The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona could take into consideration including a member of the club’s midfield ranks in an exchange deal for João Cancelo this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc Casadó as the player in question.

Defender Cancelo is for his part of course currently in the midst of a six-month loan stint in Catalunya’s capital.

Over recent weeks, owing to injury problems on both flanks, the Portuguese has played an increasingly prominent role under the watch of Hansi Flick.

And along the way, Cancelo has largely impressed, fresh off a match-winning assist in a hard-fought victory over Rayo Vallecano this past weekend.

The board at the Spotify Camp Nou are therefore understood to be leaning increasingly towards seeking out a permanent deal for the former Manchester City man.

And to fund as much, Deco and co. could yet pursue a swap deal.

As per a report from MD, Al-Hilal, Cancelo’s parent club, want to bring Marc Casadó to Saudi Arabia in the summer.

With the young midfielder struggling for playing time under Hansi Flick, an offer of Cancelo, accompanied by a cash sum, could in turn convince Barcelona to sanction Casadó’s exit.
