The board at La Liga giants Barcelona could soon turn their focus back towards Liverpool star Luis Díaz, amid their ongoing search for reinforcements in the final third.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.

The subject of Barca’s winger chase has of course dominated the media chatter across Spain once more early this week.

As much comes after word was forthcoming that the Blaugrana’s efforts to bring in Nico Williams from La Liga rivals Athletic Club have hit something of a wall.

The 22-year-old, through his entourage, is understood to be demanding guarantees regarding his registration which the Camp Nou hierarchy are not willing to provide.

With as much in mind, Barcelona, in turn, are giving consideration to shifting attentions back towards Liverpool standout Luis Díaz.

As per a report from MD:

‘Barça remain interested in Luis Díaz, who was the first choice for Deco, the Barça director of football.’

It now remains to be seen if a full pivot back towards the Colombian international is ultimately deemed necessary by Joan Laporta and co.
