After leaving FC Barcelona, Vitor Roque has rediscovered his form in Brazil. After a difficult year in Spain with the Blaugrana, the forward decided to return to his home country by joining Palmeiras, a move that has proved to be the right one.

The 20-year-old striker is once again showing his best form and has helped his team reach the Copa Libertadores final. So far, he has 17 goals and five assists from 50 matches for Palmeiras.

Manchester United interested in Vitor Roque

His performances have not gone unnoticed, and, according to Sports Illustrated (h/t SPORT), Manchester United are closely monitoring Roque and are reportedly prepared to make a €50 million offer.

The Brazilian forward, who could be included in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for upcoming friendly matches, has regained his scoring touch and become a key figure at Palmeiras.

Manchester United have taken note of his exploits since his return to Brazil and are weighing up a move for the striker, with a €50 million offer under consideration.

Revenue for Barcelona

Barcelona are aware of all developments surrounding Vitor Roque. The club’s sporting department believes there was a lack of patience with the player during a difficult period, but the current priority is to generate future revenue from the rights they still hold.

For now, Barcelona could earn an additional €1 million in bonuses if Vitor Roque wins the Copa Libertadores with Palmeiras.

In the event of a transfer, Barcelona still retain 20 per cent of the player’s rights, which would secure them a significant sum. If Manchester United or another Premier League club were to pay €50 million, Barcelona would receive €10 million.

Within the club, there is a growing sense that, despite the sporting outcome of his time in Spain, Roque will ultimately provide a financial benefit for Barcelona in the long term.

Meanwhile, the striker and his entourage do not view a return to Europe favourably at the moment. The 20-year-old intends to remain at Palmeiras until June, after which he would be more open to a new move.
