Less than two weeks are left before the winter transfer window comes to a halt and there may be some late activity at FC Barcelona.
The Blaugrana are looking to bring in Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United but need to make room for his arrival by sanctioning one or two player exits.
Ansu Fati, for one, appears likely to be offloaded having fallen completely out of favour under Hansi Flick while Eric Garcia is another candidate who could leave.
As has already been reported, Girona are interested in re-signing Eric Garcia, after he excelled at Montilivi on loan last season.
Mundo Deportivo now reports that the 24-year-old versatile defender would be open to a return to Girona in search of regular minutes on the field.
Girona director Quique Carcel confirmed their interest in re-signing the Spaniard in an interview on Saturday, saying:
“Our intention is to try to bring him, but we depend on Barça setting us conditions that are realistic for us and that we can do it.”

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, however, is not in favour of Garcia’s departure.
“I don’t think Eric Garcia will leave in the winter. For us, he is ours and he is a good player,” Flick said in a press conference.
“He is an intelligent player that can play in different positions. We are not thinking about his departure at the moment,” he added.
However, with Ronald Araujo now staying and Andreas Christensen’s return from injury, Flick might change his stance.
While Barcelona are not currently inclined to let him go, they are open to discussions with their Catalan rivals, who seem to have secured the player’s approval.
