FC Barcelona have to keep up with their rivals irrespective of all the hurdles that come their way. Such are the expectations from the Catalan club and they continue to push their way forward as a result of them. However, that still does not neglect the fact that Barcelona have had their fair share of problems to work around this season.
Injuries, for instance, have arguably been the most prominent of such issues. While the entire list of players who have been sidelined at one point or another this season would take way too long to list down, it is already telling when Barcelona are yet to see Ronald Araujo play a single minute this season so far.
Others like Lamine Yamal, Andreas Christensen, Dani Olmo, Gavi, Alejandro Balde, and more have also felt what it feels like to be sidelined due to injury this season. Now, ahead of the La Liga clash against Las Palmas coming up ahead, there was another new update that would be a massive blow for Barcelona if it turns out to be true.
In a recent report from within the Spanish media, 33-year-old Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez was reported to have been injured due to muscular discomfort. As a result, his participation against Las Palmas was then called into doubt within the same report.
However, according to Javi Miguel, that will not be the case. The journalist says that Inigo Martinez is completely okay and the discomfort that the report in question was referring to was something normal and it will not stop the player from starting in Barça’s next encounter.
Some great news for La Blaugrana given that Inigo Martinez has undoubtedly been one of the most in-form defenders in Europe this season. The Spaniard, formerly from Athletic Club, has been a key player for Hansi Flick this season and he will continue to be so until and unless an injury actually gets him out of the starting eleven.
In other news, Barcelona gem Pedri will be looking to mark a special occasion for himself by being available against Las Palmas in this upcoming game. Similarly, another great update for Hansi Flick’s team will be the potential return of their star prodigy who was recently announced as the winner of this year’s Golden Boy award.
