Earlier this week, it was reported that RFEF is ready to amend the rules in order to avoid a loophole that allowed Barcelona to re-register Dani Olmo.
While one would expect La Liga and RFEF to be once again involved in a war with Barcelona over Olmo this summer, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo has given a rather illuminating update.
As per the report, Barcelona will not need to re-register Olmo for the upcoming season. The attacker is already listed as a first-team player for the 2025/26 campaign.
This is thanks to a decision made earlier this year by Spain’s CSD, offering Barcelona a precautionary measure.
Back on April 3, the CSD accepted an appeal filed by Barcelona that allowed Olmo and Pau Victor to remain registered as first-team players.

This ruling continues to stand and remains legally valid, meaning Barça do not have to reprocess their registrations this summer.
The only way this situation could change is if the National Court accepts precautionary measures requested by La Liga to block that decision.
The Administrative Litigation Court had earlier ruled itself incompetent in the matter, deferring the jurisdiction to the Chamber of the National Court.
Until a new ruling is passed, the CSD’s original decision remains in effect, which is a major positive for Barcelona.
With the club still working toward restoring a 1:1 spending ratio and clearing space on the wage bill, avoiding unnecessary registration processes such as Olmo should greatly help their cause.
However, it will be interesting to see how RFEF or La Liga react to the matter and whether or not come up with any legal rebuttals.
