Barcelona are ready to make some major moves in the transfer market this summer, as already evidenced by the Anthony Gordon acquisition.

However, in order to plot moves for more stars, the club need to bring in fresh revenue. The imminent exit of Ansu Fati to AS Monaco will help, but the team needs bigger departures in order to bring in more money to the coffers.

Ronald Araujo is one such player many feel Barcelona can offload, as the defender has clearly struggled with form and prominence under Hansi Flick.

However, according to SPORT, Barcelona are not ready to offload Araujo this summer as he is still considered a key player

The Catalans are willing to back the Uruguayan international, especially after he had to go through the mental toil and seek fortitude after a costly error vs Chelsea in the UCL last season.

Hansi Flick has total confidence in Araujo and is counting on him to come good, so that he can compete with the likes of Pau Cubarsi, Eric Garcia and Gerard Martin for a place in the starting eleven.

Araujo, for his part, has no plans to leave Barcelona. He wants to succeed at Camp Nou and is willing to make it difficult for Flick, as far as team selection is concerned.

A vital World Cup for Araujo

While Araujo is excited about the season ahead, he will, at the same time, be keen on concentrating on the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

The defender will play a key role for the Uruguay squad, looking to outperform their South American rivals Argentina and Brazil.

Araujo is one of the leaders of the Uruguay team, which no longer has stars of the past, with Luis Suarez notably getting omitted.

A solid World Cup campaign could go a long way in boosting Araujo’s confidence heading into the new season.
