Up to 10 FC Barcelona players have made their way to the semi-finals of the World Cup 2026. 8 of these players are playing for Spain, including Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsi, Gavi, and Joan Garcia. One of the remaining 2 players, Jules Kounde, is playing for France, while the last remaining player, Anthony Gordon, is playing for England.
With their players divided over three different teams, the Blaugrana club will have a confirmed representation in the final, which is scheduled for the coming Sunday, 19th July.
However, for now, the eyes of the world are set on the semi-final round, in which two blockbuster matches are set to be played, i.e., France-Spain and England-Argentina. In the build-up to these matches, the player valuation portal Transfermarkt has compiled a list of the most valuable player in each position from these four teams.
As Mundo Deportivo has noted, Barcelona is the club with the highest representation in this list, with four players, i.e., Lamine Yamal (€200 million), Pedri (€150 million), Pau Cubarsi (€80 million), and Joan Garcia (€45 million).
The remaining players on the list are Kylian Mbappe (€180 million), Bradley Barcola (€70 million), Jude Bellingham (€130 million), Michael Olise (€150 million), Nico O’Reilly (€70 million), Reece James (€60 million), and William Saliba (€100 million).
The case of the Blaugrana goalkeeper is rather surprising, as he is not even a starter for his national team. However, his valuation, €45 million, is higher than that of the starting goalkeepers of any of the four teams, i.e., Unai Simon (Athletic, 22 million), Mike Maignan (Milan, 20 million), Jordan Pickford (Everton, 13 million), or Dibu Martínez (Aston Villa, 12 million). The player closest to him in this position is David Raya (€30 million), who is also not a starter for Spain.
