Barcelona are already laying the groundwork for a decisive summer transfer window, and the latest developments suggest that difficult calls are about to be made.

With financial balance and squad evolution on top of the agenda, two names have now emerged as potential departures, Ferran Torres and Marc Casado.

According to a report from SPORT, the club is open to selling both players as part of their strategy to generate funds and create room for new arrivals ahead of the 2026–27 season.

Ferran Torres in spotlight

In that context, Ferran’s situation is becoming increasingly telling.

Despite being under contract until 2027, the Spanish forward has yet to receive any indication of a renewal offer.

It is because the current season was seen as a defining period for him, particularly as he was entrusted with a more central role in attack.

However, the Spaniard has struggled to deliver, as his last goal came on 31 January against Elche, and since then, his output in front of goal has noticeably declined.

From a financial standpoint, his situation makes a potential sale even more appealing.

With just one year remaining on his deal by the end of next season, Barcelona see this summer as a key window to extract value while also easing their wage bill.

What about Casado?

Alongside him, Casado’s future is also far from secure.

The young midfielder, tied to the club until 2028, has long been viewed as part of Barcelona’s internal planning.

In fact, discussions over a possible renewal took place just over a month ago, reflecting the club’s appreciation of his profile.

Yet, Casado’s limited playing time and reduced prominence under Flick could force a rethink, especially with interest from Saudi Arabia looming

While his commitment to Barcelona has never been in doubt, the reality of his situation may push both player and club to reassess what comes next.
