In their quest to find an ideal alternative for the ageing Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona have set their sights on the promising Mexican striker, Santi Gimenez, reports Fichajes.
Currently dazzling in Dutch football with Feyenoord. The 23-year-old has quickly become one of the most talked-about talents in Europe, thanks to his lethal finishing, agility, and physical presence, all of which make him a natural fit for Barcelona’s offensive line.
Barcelona, though, must dig deep in their pockets if they are to secure the services of young Jimenez.
As per the report, Feyenoord have placed a hefty €50 million valuation on their star striker. This price reflects not only his current form but also his potential for future growth.
Despite no official negotiations having begun, his name is prominently featured on Barcelona’s wish list, indicating the Catalans’ serious interest.

Gimenez, who has been compared to the likes of Luis Suarez for his goal-scoring instincts, has scored prolifically since his move from Cruz Azul to Feyenoord.
His style of play, characterized by a keen sense for positioning in the box, mobility off the ball, and robust physicality, aligns well with Barcelona’s tactical philosophy under Hansi Flick, who values versatility and effectiveness in the final third.
That said, the €50 million price tag could prove tricky for Barcelona, given their well-documented financial constraints and the need to balance the books while adhering to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Not to mention, Barcelona have prioritised the contract renewals of their key players rather than going all out in the market. The club have recently announced the renewal of none other than Pedri.
