Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday expressed collective concern regarding the ongoing form of one member of the club’s backline.

The player in question? Ronald Araújo.

Defender Araújo, for his part, was in from the off once more this afternoon, as Barcelona welcomed Deportivo Alavés to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

This comes as the Uruguayan continues to work towards rediscovering full fitness and sharpness alike.

After coming in for regular criticism over the last couple of weeks, similar concern was again expressed with the efforts of the 25-year-old on Sunday.

This came chiefly owing to his exploits in possession, with Araújo struggling to replicate the on-ball excellence of Iñigo Martínez, amid the latter’s recent spell on the sidelines.

And Barcelona boss Hansi Flick was evidently not too pleased with what he was witnessing, either, having hauled Araújo off for Eric García with just 45 minutes on the clock.
