Barcelona finally reach agreement with Club Brugge for Jesse Bisiwu | OneFootball

This summer has once again seen FC Barcelona reaffirm their traditional commitment to youth talent development, as they remained linked with several notable youngsters. In fact, they have already completed the signing of one such player, namely the Egyptian youngster Hamza Abdelkarim.

Another young talent that has caught their attention and with whom they have been linked for quite some time now is the Belgian forward Jesse Bisiwu. The Catalans have been negotiating with Club Brugge for his signing for the last six months.

Now, SPORT cites the journalist Sacha Tavolieri to claim that their efforts have finally borne fruit, as they have reached an agreement with the Belgian club for the young forward. Under this agreement, the Blaugranes would pay €10 million for the player’s transfer, while Brugge would keep 30% of his rights.

These negotiations have certainly not been easy, as the Belgians wanted to keep Bisiwu, clearly recognizing his talents and the heights he can reach in the future. However, the fact that his contract is expiring in 2027 and he had his heart set only on joining Barcelona pushed them towards reaching an agreement with the Blaugrana club.

The necessary paperwork is currently being carried out to complete this operation, and the player is expected to join the Catalan club next week. He would then join Hansi Flick’s squad for preseason training, even though he is expected to play mainly for Barca Atletic next season, while also getting regular chances to train and play with the first team.

With €10 million paid for 70% of the young player’s rights, and that too with only one year remaining on his contract, Barcelona have clearly shown the faith they have placed in Jesse Bisiwu. Hopefully, the player will repay this faith as he embarks on a journey to one of the biggest clubs in Europe to realize his immense potential.
