Lamine seems to be writing his own script.
Just as the Newcastle United clash looms, the Barcelona youngster has turned social media into a subtle storytelling tool, less noise, more intent.
Ahead of the crucial round of 16 second leg tie at Spotify Camp Nou, he chose to frame the tie as a continuation of something unfinished.
Alongside a long video that features glimpses of Neymar, mostly in Barcelona shirt, he wrote, “See you tomorrow.”
In the first leg at St. James’ Park, Yamal’s performance was not his sharpest display, and for long periods he struggled to impose himself.
Yet, deep into stoppage time, with Barcelona needing a goal, he stepped up and converted from the penalty spot, which was his first goal against English opposition.

Now, with the second leg looming at Spotify Camp Nou, Yamal has shifted the tone of his messaging.
This time, instead of looking back, he looked towards inspiration. On the eve of the game, he posted a highlight reel of Neymar in a Barcelona shirt, a player whose influence on Yamal’s style is obvious every time he takes on a defender.
It wasn’t just admiration, as it felt like a reminder of the kind of performance Barcelona fans associate with big European nights.
Physically, everything points in his favour, as he comes into the match fresh, having played limited minutes against Sevilla, and with the rhythm of the first leg still in his legs.
More importantly, he now steps into a game where the margins are clearer – home advantage, a level scoreline, and a stage that rewards bravery.
For Barcelona, the match will be about control and execution, while for Yamal, it feels like something else entirely – a redepmention of sorts.
