The World Cup 2026 has not started in the best possible way for the FC Barcelona players participating in the competition. This is particularly the case as some of their players, most notably Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, and Raphinha have suffered from some physical problems.
The Uruguayan has still not been able to play in the competition because of his injury, while the Dutch midfielder played in the last game against Sweden with some pain. However, the situation of the winger Raphinha has raised the most concern, especially as he is a key player for the Brazilian national team.
The forward suffered an injury during the game against Haiti, which his side won 3-0, and was able to stay on the pitch for only 38 minutes in that match. He had to be replaced at that time by Rayan, and after the match, it was reported that he has suffered from a relapse of the injury he recently suffered while playing a friendly for Brazil.
A later statement from the CBF revealed that treatment had already started on the winger, without mentioning any timeframes. Meanwhile, a report from SPORT claims that the Barcelona forward has not yet given up on his hopes of playing again in this World Cup, and is already aiming to return to availability for the Canarinha team by 5th July, when Brazil would be playing in the Round of 16.
Raphinha has already started physiotherapy for this reason, but he is sure to miss around two weeks of action. Thus, he would be unavailable for Carlo Ancelotti for the third match of the group stage against Scotland, which is scheduled to be played on 29th June.
Meanwhile, it is also not sure that the Barcelona star would be able to return for the Round of 16 tie, but would hopefully be available for Brazil if they are able to advance past this stage.
