“Yes, we’re very happy. In the end, that was the goal, to be here until the final and win it. We’re very happy with the victory and to keep going,” he said as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
He acknowledged that Athletic Club, known for their physically demanding style of play, made the match difficult, especially towards the end of the first half.
Despite the challenges, Barcelona remained composed and played effectively, which ultimately led to their victory.
“Athletic is a very physical team, which makes you run a lot. It’s true that we suffered, especially at the end of the first half, but we knew how to play very well and we’re very happy,”
Yamal also reflected on his own performance, stating that whenever the coach gives him the opportunity, he feels honoured to contribute to the team’s success.
“Whenever the manager gives me the chance, I’m happy to be able to help the team,” he noted.

In addition to his own efforts, Yamal was asked about the encouraging news regarding the potential inclusion of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in the squad.
Both players had been subject to precautionary measures, and their registrations were crucial for the upcoming final.
Yamal expressed his delight that they are now available to play, hoping that both would be included in the starting lineup for the final.
“In the end, we are very happy that they can play now, I hope they are with us in the final. If the coach puts them in, they should give their all.
He noted that it is natural for players to feel anxious when sidelined but emphasized the joy and relief that come with the positive news of being able to participate in such an important match.
“I am very happy for both of them. It is normal to be nervous when you can’t play, but when they give you news like that you are very happy. We are very happy for them,” he added.
