Shortly after Barcelona’s defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, it was reported that La Liga would reschedule the club’s league game against Real Valladolid to May 3.

La Liga soon made the news official, knowing that Barcelona were slated to face Inter Milan in the second leg of the UCL semis on May 6.

Barcelona ask La Liga for another favour

Once La Liga confirmed that the Valladolid game had been rescheduled to May 3, it was thought the matter was done and dusted.

However, a recent report from RAC1 suggests Barcelona are now in talks with La Liga yet again, regarding another rescheduling of the same game.

Indeed, it appears Barcelona are trying to get La Liga to move the Valladolid game to an earlier time.

For context, the game was initially rescheduled to May 3, 9 p.m. This means the game is supposed to end at 11 p.m., thus giving Barcelona very little time for any real rest, especially knowing that the club are supposed to travel to Milan the very next day.

Therefore, Barça want La Liga to reschedule the game to an earlier time, on the same day, so that the team can sleep early and get better rest.

Even Hansi Flick alluded to the same during his recent press conference, with the German lashing out at the fixture list and asking why the Valladolid game was not fixed at 6 p.m.

Nonetheless, the report suggests that even though the talks are underway, it would be difficult for Barcelona to convince La Liga and that there is not much optimism in the Barcelona camp.

More details should come out in the days to come, but as of now, Barcelona will likely have to prepare for a 9 p.m. matchup vs Valladolid on May 3.
