Barcelona interpret superstar’s injury struggles to be linked to his ‘playing style’ | OneFootball

Raphinha has been a central figure in Spanish media reports in recent hours for a plethora of reasons.

For starters, the player is finally back in the squad for Barcelona for the first time since his injury on international duty for Brazil. 

Concurrently, however, word has come out that the player is considering a departure from the club and that he is uncertain about his future in Catalonia. The decision arrives not as a result of conflict but of internal reflection by the player.

Barcelona’s idea of his injuries

The reason Raphinha is unsure about his future at the club is because he has been heavily impacted by injuries this season, and the team’s results have also taken blows due to his unavailability.

As reported by El Pais, however, Barcelona understand that Raphinha’s injury on international duty against Brazil was simply unavoidable given how it is in his nature to give his all on the field.

Internally, the club interpret his injury to be directly linked to his playing style which involves him always playing at top gear. His giving everything on the field is not for show but simply his way of playing the game.

It is that very aspect of his game that makes him so valued by Hansi Flick, but his style of play goes for both club and country and Barcelona believe they must accept such setbacks as a result of the same.

Despite the player honestly confessing his mental dilemma, Barcelona are calm and understand that it is just a period of introspection by the player which is leading to him overthinking.

Raphinha, needless to say, continues to be in Barcelona’s plans for the future and will feature tonight as the team take on Osasuna.
