FC Barcelona are keeping a very close eye on the Bundesliga, with a number of players on their radar for the summer window of 2026.

Established players such as Harry Kane, Serhou Guirassy, and Nico Schlotterbeck are all being monitored by the Blaugrana.

At the same time, some up-and-coming players, like TSG Hoffenheim’s Fisnik Asllani, are also being looked at. Another player belonging to this category happens to be Said El Mala of 1.FC Koln.

Barcelona are monitoring the 19-year-old forward as a possible option to reinforce their left flank, with Hansi Flick and his staff members understood to be his admirers.

Manchester City also want Said El Mala

However, according to Sky Germany (h/t SPORT), Premier League heavyweights Manchester City have also taken an interest in Said El Mala.

Indeed, the 19-year-old German talent has impressed Pep Guardiola, who is now following him closely.

The Manchester City head coach has reviewed several videos and clips of the emerging Koln star, and has recently sent scouts to Bundesliga matches to watch him live.

Manchester City and Barcelona are not the only sides paying attention to his situation. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund also have Said El Mala on their lists of potential signings

Said El Mala is enjoying a breakout year in German football, with four goals and one assist in ten Bundesliga matches.

Given his development, the youngster was called up to the German national team squad by manager Julian Nagelsmann this month, although the winger did not make his debut.

Koln strengthened their position last July by extending Said El Mala’s contract until 2030. As such, the feeling is that if they opened the doors to a sale, they would command a fee of at least €40 million.

Discussions between the club and the player’s representatives are expected to take place during this winter period. Even so, he is fully focused on finishing the season strongly with Koln and making it to the German squad for the World Cup.
