Castelló revelled as Barcelona lifted the Spanish Women's Super Cup against Real Madrid, with 12,595 inside SkyFi Castalia. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the city took centre stage as women's sport left its mark.
Strong morning winds did not stop youngsters filling the Fan Zone for three-a-side football, music and activities. From 15.00, the party shifted beside the stadium.
The ground was virtually full, with a clear blaugrana majority, reflecting the rapid growth of the women's game.
Barcelona had a singing section at the north end, while Madridistas, in the minority, hoped for an equaliser that never came.
A light and music show preceded kick-off as giant crests waved, and Sonia Bermúdez set the trophy on the turf to a warm ovation.
Joan Laporta attended the directors' lunch. Florentino Pérez did not, with Emilio Butrageño leading Madrid's delegation.
Maica Hurtado and mayor Begoña Carrasco visited the exhibition with RFEF president Rafael Louzán, then attended the lunch and posed with Ballon d'Or winner Aitana Bonmatí, injured but present.
Barcelona formed a guard of honour for the runners-up before medals were presented by Rafael Louzán, Joan Laporta, Begoña Carrasco and Ibán Molina. Patri Guijarro was named player of the final.
Louzán said the senior women's national team will play in Castelló soon, with details to follow.
