Tijjani Reijnders has recently become a hot prospect in the transfer market, amid renewal delays with his current club AC Milan.

The likes of Barcelona and Manchester City are reportedly interested in the services of the Dutch midfielder, who has enjoyed a stellar breakthrough in Serie A.

Having joined Milan last summer for a fee of €20 million, Reijnders has become a crucial component of the team’s midfield unit, racking up 64 competitive appearances for the club.

However, Reijnders’ future came under the scanner recently when the process of his renewal talks with AC Milan got delayed.

Big blow for Barcelona

However, in a massive blow for Barcelona, it appears renewal talks between Reijnders and AC Milan are back on track.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Reijnders himself has confirmed he is in talks with the Rossoneri over a new deal.

Romano confirms that the player is happy in Milan and is in advance talks with the club over a new deal that should safeguard his long-term future at San Siro.

This comes on the back of Reijnders’ father recently confirming renewal talks with Milan, earlier in the month.

With the Dutchman all set to continue at San Siro, Barcelona must shift their attention to other options in the market.

The Catalans have been recently linked with a move for Argentine midfield jewel Franco Mastantuono, though signing the youngster could prove to be difficult due to his €50 million release clause.

One of Barcelona’s priorities, though, will be to snap up Bayern Munich superstar Joshua Kimmich, whose contract in Bavaria expires at the end of the season.
