Over the past few weeks, there have been murmurs about the future of Alejandro Balde at FC Barcelona heading into the summer transfer window.
With the Catalans looking to rope in Joao Cancelo permanently, there has been speculation that they are willing to part ways with Balde before next season, with the 22-year-old defender attracting interest from Premier League clubs.
Providing an update on the situation, though, Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona are not actively looking to offload Balde in the summer.
Indeed, the Blaugrana are not desperate to force the La Masia graduate out of the club and have not informed his agent to find a new club for the player at the moment.
Instead, Barcelona continue to believe in Balde’s potential and consider him a great player in the making with obvious room for development.

At the same time, if they receive an important proposal for the 22-year-old starlet, they would be open to studying it.
As mentioned previously, Balde is on the radars of top Premier League clubs, with both Manchester City and Manchester United reportedly lodging enquiries for him.
However, for now, Barcelona are not actively looking to sell Balde and have not told his agent to find a solution for the summer. Instead, the Catalans still see him as a part of the project that Hansi Flick is building.
But if a significant offer comes along for the youngster in the summer, it will be studied, and a decision will be made.
