La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday showcased their appreciation for the brilliance of club icon Lionel Messi for the latest occasion. This comes after the 39-year-old’s latest individual moment of magic on the pitch.

Messi’s Inter Miami were back in action in the early hours of Monday, making the trip to Ohio for an MLS meeting with Columbus Crew.

When all was said and done, the visitors were condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result. Messi, though, nevertheless managed to make his mark. With Inter trailing by a goal to nil during the first-half, the Argentine stood over a free-kick from a tight angle.

From here, Messi went on to bend a sumptuous effort beyond everyone waiting in the penalty area, and into the far top corner:

And as alluded to above, quick to pay homage to the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner in the game’s aftermath were none other than Barcelona.
