A massive El Clasico arrives for FC Barcelona as they prepare to take on Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia. Both teams will go all out in this clash, and there can only be one side that ends up lifting the title.
Hansi Flick’s team will also be seeking revenge for the previous fixture between these two sides, a game that ended with Real Madrid taking a narrow win at the Santiago Bernabeu. This time around, however, Flick will have most of his key players available.
Here is how Barcelona could line up for this fixture.
Goalkeeper: Joan Garcia
The Spanish goalkeeper continues to keep the Barcelona goal safe and sound, and that will be something the Catalan giants will need from him again when they face Real Madrid.
Right-back: Jules Kounde
His recent performances have certainly improved, and Jules Kounde will be looking to make a statement in this crucial final as well.
Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi
Always important in the team’s distribution and progression, Pau Cubarsi is a mainstay in this side, and for good reason.
Centre-back: Eric Garcia
While Gerard Martin appears to be Hansi Flick’s preferred option in the left centre-back role, and Eric Garcia has played more as a defensive midfielder recently, the inclusion of Frenkie de Jong to add greater control in midfield is expected to see Flick deploy Garcia in defence again, at the expense of Gerard Martin.
Left-back: Alejandro Balde
Full of speed and explosiveness on the left flank, Alejandro Balde could prove to be a dangerous asset against Los Blancos in this game.
CDM: Frenkie de Jong
There are few players with the evasive qualities of Frenkie de Jong, and he also knows a thing or two about performing well against Real Madrid.
CDM: Pedri
The Spaniard is always an essential asset for the team, and Barcelona will need him to be at his best in this El Clasico if they want to dominate the game and eventually win the match.
RAM: Lamine Yamal
Ready to start again after starting on the bench in the previous game, Lamine Yamal will have a point to prove. After all, Roony Bardghji seems to be quickly making a name for himself, so the €200 million-rated Spanish winger needs to step up.
CAM: Fermin Lopez
Thanks to his intensity and ability to find dangerous spaces near the opposition box, Fermin Lopez always presents himself as a lethal option in any attack fielded by Hansi Flick.
LAM: Raphinha
After a superb performance in the last game, the Brazilian star’s form will be a massive boost for Barça here. While he may have missed the previous El Clasico, this is his chance to remind everyone why he is so integral to this team.
Centre-forward: Ferran Torres
With his speed and positioning, Ferran Torres has hurt Los Blancos in the past. This time around, if he ends up starting, more of the same will be expected from him.
