Barcelona predicted XI vs Sevilla: Araujo returns, €140m player rested, Lewandowski leads attack

FC Barcelona travel away from home to face off against Sevilla in La Liga. To reclaim their top spot in the league from Real Madrid, who won their most recent game against Villarreal, La Blaugrana will need to come away with all three points here.

Unfortunately, they will not be able to rely on the services of two of their best players for this game. Both Raphinha and Lamine Yamal are currently sidelined for this fixture, and while they continue their respective recoveries, Hansi Flick will have to sort things out with alternative options in attack.

Here is how Barça could line up against Sevilla.

Predicted Barcelona Line-up vs Sevilla:

Goalkeeper: Wojciech Szczesny

The Polish international did not have his best outing against PSG, but he remains the first-choice goalkeeper as Joan Garcia is injured and is expected to start again.

Right-back: Jules Kounde

After a shaky performance last time out, Kounde will be eager to bounce back against his former club. His defensive composure will be crucial.

Centre-back: Ronald Araujo

Having been rested in the previous game, Araujo returns to the starting XI. His leadership and physicality will be key for Flick’s side.

Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi

Despite some nervy moments in midweek, the youngster has shown maturity beyond his years. Flick is expected to trust him again alongside Araujo.

Left-back: Gerard Martin

With Alejandro Balde recently returning from injury, Flick may opt for Martin once more to avoid rushing Balde back into full action.

CDM: Frenkie de Jong

Not at his sharpest against PSG, but his calmness and control in midfield will be vital against Sevilla’s high press.

CDM: Marc Casado

With Pedri likely to be rested for this clash, the €140 million-rated Spanish midfielder will be given a much-needed breather after featuring heavily in recent weeks. In his absence, Marc Casado is expected to start alongside Frenkie de Jong, offering energy, defensive stability, and the kind of work rate that can help Barcelona control the midfield battle.

RAM: Marcus Rashford

The English forward continues to deliver goals and assists in almost every game. His form remains impressive, but he needs to add a bit more consistency and threat to his game across the entirety of the match.

CAM: Dani Olmo

A rather poor performance in the last game, Dani Olmo has hardly impressed this season so far. However, with him likely to start this game, it is important for him to turn up in important moments now.

LAM: Ferran Torres

Scored the only goal for Barça in the previous game, and his form continues to be impressive. However, he will need to be way more clinical if he starts this game.

Centre-forward: Robert Lewandowski

The Polish ace had limited minutes in the previous game, but considering the injury crisis going on, he is likely to start this fixture.
