Dean Huijsen has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market heading into the summer window.
A host of top clubs across Europe are gunning for his signing, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea among others.
However, now, according to the latest update from Gianluca Di Marzio, Barcelona have also shown an interest in securing Huijsen’s signing from AFC Bournemouth.
Indeed, along with Real Madrid, the Blaugrana are also understood to have presented their project for the 20-year-old centre-back, with his father and agent currently visiting interested clubs in Spain and England.
Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea are also understood to have done the same as they too are intent on signing the Netherlands-born Spanish defender.

Huijsen has a release clause worth £50 million (€58 million) in his contract and Bournemouth have made it clear that any interested party must activate to sign him. The amount can be paid in three instalments in 18 months.
Barcelona have a well-stocked centre-back department but there are question marks over the continuity of Ronald Araujo after some costly mistakes in recent games.
Jonathan Tah appeared set to sign as a free agent but Bayern Munich seem to have beaten the Blaugrana to the punch, possibly leading them to show an interest in Huijsen.
However, as per the aforementioned report, Huijsen’s current preference, following his father and his agent’s trip to Spain, is said to be Real Madrid, meaning they are leading the race for the 20-year-old, ahead of Barcelona and the Premier League trio.
Given Barça’s current economic situation, it was always unlikely that they would be spending close to €60 million to reinforce a position that is not a priority. And chances are Huijsen will end up with the Catalans’ eternal rivals.
